Certainly one of the most enjoyable activities you can find in Rio de Janeiro. Imagine soaring over the Guanabara Bay on a boat especially designed for practicing parasailing, which has its own platform for takeoff and landing. Enjoy all the beauty of Rio’s coastline with a privileged view of the mountains, beautiful beaches and in some instances, dolphins, sea turtles and many more sealife!
1- What part of our vacation should we plan to parasail?
We encourage you to plan parasailing for the first part of your vacation. That way, if the weather is not on your side you will have other opportunities to fly.
2 – How does parasailing work?
After getting outfitted with a life vest and harness, you’re seated on the flight deck of the boat. Once seated, the first mate clips your harness to the parachute. Then up you will ascend really nice and smoothly, just like sitting on a swing set that slowly elevates you for the experience of a lifetime. And yes, all take offs and landings are done straight from the boat so you can stay dry if you prefer.
3 – How long does the excursion take?
The boat ride takes about 1.5 hours and the parasailing flight about 10 minutes. But, don´t worry, whilst the others are trying their hand at parasailing, you can kick back and relax on our boat. Transfers from your accommodation are included within the fixed price.
4 – What should I wear?
Ladies: bathing suits are recommended but be sure to bring some clothes to wear over the top as it may get a little chilly at sea. Gentlemen: shorts/bathing suits and T-shirts are great. We also recommend flip flops and sandals, however if you prefer you can use sneakers or shoes. The boat has compartments to keep them.
